Oils we use

Why Coconut Oil?

Our premium, cold-pressed coconut oil is the straight-from-the-source staple your skin (and routines) will love. Naturally rich in lauric acid and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), it melts on contact to cushion skin with lightweight moisture, absorbs quickly, and leaves a soft, non-greasy feel. With its clean, subtly sweet aroma and minimal processing, you get the pure benefits and nothing extra.

In soapmaking, coconut oil is the lather hero: it builds rich, bubbly foam and helps create a firm, long-lasting bar. Use it on its own for simple body care (think makeup removal and dry-skin spots), or blend it into balms, scrubs, and salves for a silky finish.

Highlights

  • Cold-pressed, unrefined, and hexane-free

  • Naturally high in lauric acid for creamy, cleansing lather

  • Fast-absorbing moisture; soft, clean after-feel

  • Versatile: perfect for handmade soaps, scrubs, balms, and body care

Why Avocado Oil?

Our premium avocado oil is a skin-comfort superstar, naturally rich in oleic acid and skin-loving vitamins (A, D, E) that leave dry or delicate skin feeling cushioned and calm. Silky and fast-absorbing, it adds a soft, conditioned feel without heaviness, and its natural green hue hints at the fresh, minimally processed goodness inside.

In soapmaking, avocado oil boosts creaminess and conditioning while helping create a gentle, stable lather. It pairs beautifully with bubbly oils (like coconut) and hard butters (like shea) to balance cleanse with lasting moisture.

Highlights

  • Cold-pressed, premium grade; naturally rich in vitamins A, D & E

  • High in oleic acid for deep, silky conditioning

  • Lightweight feel—absorbs without a greasy residue

  • Versatile: perfect for handmade soaps, body oils, balms, and scrubs

Why Castor Oil?

Premium castor oil is the secret to silky lather. Naturally rich in ricinoleic acid, it acts like a humectant, drawing in moisture, so skin feels cushioned and soft. Its thick, glossy texture adds slip and helps carry fragrance, making bars feel luxurious and balanced.

In soapmaking, a little goes a long way: castor oil supercharges bubbles (especially creamy, stable lather) and improves bar feel without making skin feel stripped. It also plays nicely in balms, glosses, and scrubs for extra shine and conditioning.

Highlights

  • High in ricinoleic acid for velvety, stable lather

  • Humectant properties help skin feel soft and comfortable

  • Enhances fragrance dispersion and adds a glossy, silky glide

  • Versatile: great in handmade soaps, lip balms/glosses, scrubs, and shampoo bars

Why Palm Oil?

Premium palm oil is the backbone of a great bar, naturally high in palmitic and stearic acids that create a firm, long-lasting soap with a creamy, stable lather. It balances bubbly oils (like coconut) and soft conditioners (like avocado or shea) so your bar feels rich in the shower and lasts longer on the dish.

In soapmaking, palm oil brings hardness, smooth glide, and a gentle cleanse without the waxy feel. Refined (RBD) palm is pale and neutral in scent; “red” unrefined palm carries a natural golden hue and antioxidants. For makers who prioritize sourcing, look for RSPO-certified or responsibly produced options.

Highlights

  • Builds bar hardness and longevity (palmitic + stearic acids)

  • Produces creamy, stable lather that feels cushioned on skin

  • Neutral, versatile base that pairs well with butters and liquid oils

Butters we use

Why Shea Butter?

Premium shea butter is a skin-comfort powerhouse, naturally rich in stearic and oleic acids plus nourishing “unsaponifiables” (vitamins and antioxidants) that help soothe dryness and support a soft, cushioned feel. It melts in smoothly, absorbs without a heavy residue, and lends that buttery, calm-to-the-skin finish people love.

In soapmaking, shea butter boosts conditioning and bar hardness while creating a creamy, stable lather. It’s the perfect counterbalance to super-bubbly oils (like coconut), leaving your bar gentle, long-wearing, and indulgent.

Highlights

  • High in stearic & oleic acids for creamy conditioning

  • Naturally contains skin-loving vitamins and antioxidants

  • Helps harden bars while keeping lather plush and gentle

  • Versatile for soaps, balms, body butters, and lotion bars

Wicks we use

Why CD 26 6-inch wicks?

CD-26 is a dependable, large-format wick designed to open up an even melt pool in soy and soy-blend container candles. It’s flat-braid cotton with paper filament, “self-curl” helps the flame stay centered, which means strong scent throw, less mushrooming, and a cleaner burn when properly trimmed. At 6 inches long, it fits most jars and tins, trim to height.

Best for

  • Medium-large containers (roughly 3.5–4.25 in inner diameter—always test your exact vessel and wax)

  • Soy/soy-blend waxes like Golden Wax 464

  • Makers who want reliable hot throw without tunneling

Highlights

  • Flat-braid, cotton + paper filament for a stable, self-trimming flame

  • Builds a full melt pool to reduce tunneling in wider jars

  • Consistent performance across common fragrance loads

  • 6" pretabbed length; easy to center and trim
